Miley Cyrus - Party in the Birmingham LG

In A Nutshell: The lights were dimmed, the audience counted from ten to zero and the show began, Miley Cyrus had entered the building. But the 17-year-old made it clear she was stepping away from Disney and doing her own show, complete with grinding on a motorcycle and gyrating her guitarists leaving parents wondering why, when buying tickets for their children’s teen idol, they were left feeling like they were in a seedy bar in Soho.

The next 90 minutes were anything but dull; Miley made numerous outfit changes (each one a little more revealing than the one before) danced on a set big enough for a Hollywood blockbuster and even had celebrity appearances to dance during her catchy movie single 'Hoedown Throwdown'.

What’s Right With It? The vocals – Miley is known more for her alter ego Hannah Montana and her ‘achy breaky’ heartbroken dad than for her voice but the teenager didn’t fail to deliver in the voice department when belting out all her hits from pop anthem ‘Party in the USA’ to the emotional ‘I Look At You’.

What’s Wrong With It? Miley seemed more intent on sticking her fingers up to her Disney princess image and ignoring that most of the audience were in fact 7-year-olds who came to see the girl they fell in love with from her hit TV show Hannah Montana.

Verdict: Miley definitely got the performers genes from her father and knows how to entertain an audience, however, a little more thought into the audience she was entertaining might be needed so less leather hot pants and more Disney cowboy boots next time.
