Waiting For The Fizz

If you know anyone under the age of fifteen you will probably be familiar with the name Zoe Sugg or ‘Zoella’ as the internet knows her. I have been aware of Zoella for a while now and witnessed her growth from a relatively small blogger making videos from her bedroom in the country into a household name, author of a novel (Girl Online) and creator of a beauty range (Zoella beauty).

Recently, Zoe has extended her beauty range and launched a tutti-fruity inspired selection of products. I was a big fan of the original Zoella beauty products so was excited to out her new collection.

As with the first collection the packaging is bright, bold and very fun so my hopes were high for the new products.

My favourite product from Zoella’s original range was the Fizz Bar, a solid block that you broke up and popped into running water to create a beautiful creamy bath. The scent was a lot warmer once melted into the bath than in the packet and, although you didn’t get mountains of bubbles, it did create a nice silky bath.

With this in mind, the first product I purchased from the new collection was the Fresh Fizz Bath Bombs. The first difference I noticed was size; the original bar broke into 8 smaller squares whereas the newer bar only broke into 4, which was quite disappointing.

However, because of this I expected a nice full bath of fruit scented bubbles. What I got? Nothing.

The scent was a big let-down and even with a bigger block I didn’t manage to create any bubbles in my bath. I have tried this twice now and the second time I added in some liquid bubble bath just to brighten up my water.

Unfortunately, I will definitely not be buying anything more from this new range as I was not impressed at all with the scent and just hope that the original collection isn’t stopped.

If you are looking for a nice creamy subtle bubble bath I would really recommend the original Fizz Bar finished off with Creamy, Madly, Dreamy body lotion. The original scent is a lot more distinctive in the bath and when paired with the body lotion really does last on your skin.

Have you tried any of the Zoella beauty products? What did you think?
