Blowing Out My Candles

It happened again. I got another year older.



So, 23 years ago I took my first tiny little breath at 2:04PM. Well maybe not so tiny, I was over a month past my due date and over 9lbs!

There are probably a few people who will tell you they are shocked I managed to make it to 23 but here I am – living proof.

Being born on 14th August means I share my birthday with Mila Kunis, Nick Grimshaw, Halle Berry and the fabulous Mr Jay Manuel.

It also means I am a Leo so according to the stars my strengths include confidence, generosity, loyalty and ambition. However, it also means my weaknesses are supposedly stubbornness, vanity and melodramatics.

When I was little 23 seemed so old, so grown up, by 23 I was going to have my life planned out. I was not only going to know what I wanted to do, I was going to be doing it!

All I know is that I’m another year older and when the next ‘big one’ is 30 I should start retiring the high tops for slippers and the Jersey Shore for Diagnosis Murder, shouldn't I?
