Another year over. As I sit here writing this I am not quite sure how it is physically possible that I am reflecting on 2016 and looking forward to 2017.
This past year has been a hugely personal one. I have achieved things many (myself included) thought were impossible.
I have learnt that people enter your life and leave it for a reason, even if that reason isn't obvious at the time. I have learnt that being independent isn't the same as being too stubborn to admit I need help and accept it. I have learnt that family isn't just about blood but the people who are there for you no questions asked.
This year has seen my family grow through weddings and babies. My friends have become a lot smaller in number but enormous in worth. I have visited new places, seen sights I had only imagined and experienced love greater than I had known.
Of course my year has had some downs I would be lying to deny those but the times that I was up amongst the clouds are the times that memories were made that will last forever. As this blog is titled always ensure that you are counting what you do have rather than what you do not.
I don't have a New Years resolution as I am on a journey I am content with right now. My only aim is to make positivity and happiness the number one priority for me and all around me. To remember that I am never too busy to check in with my loved ones, never too proud to ask for help and never too old for a hug.
I wish everybody the same smile on their face when reflecting on the past 12 months and a very, very happy new year.
