Burning Rubber

Today I had an unplanned trip to Silverstone to watch the F1 Young Drivers Test 2013.

I’m not normally a massive fan of Formula 1 (or car racing in general) but recently I discovered two words that made the sport a whole lot more interesting. Those words are Sebastian and Vettel, so I apologise now if you want to read technical information on the cars and the performances I admit this is going to be a very girly post about the beautiful man in the Red Bull car.

As I mentioned before, this trip was very last minute so I didn’t really know what to expect but the sun was shining and the possibility of seeing Sebastian in the flesh meant I was up for the trip.

I was pleasantly surprised by just how much of a good day I did have, unfortunately the whole track wasn’t open so I wasn’t able to walk around the entire track but we did find some really good spots to sit, watch the racing and get some good snaps.

I’ve heard this (and you’ve probably read this) a million times but the cars are a lot louder and faster in real life, and a lot more interesting. There were points when even I found myself caught up in all the ‘who’s placing where?’

I’m not going to bore you all and list the places (you all know how to use Google right?) but I would just say that if you ever get the chance to go to a Formula 1 race, do it. Even if you don’t know much about what you’re talking about, or you’re only going to spot a sexy driver, I guarantee a good day out.

I finished it off with a mixed blue and red slushie drink (isn’t that what they all do?)
