Bright Lights In The Big City

As I mentioned a few days ago the boy and I took a trip into London. The main reason for the trip was to visit the Tower of London and view the poppy memorial, but we made a day of it and saw some more amazing sights.

I do love the ‘big smoke’ I am a proper city girl at heart and thrive off the hustle and bustle of the busy underground stations and people speed walking past you. The boy couldn’t be more different and is not the biggest fan of London but for a short time (and for me) he makes the effort. And, don’t tell him I told you this, but I think he enjoyed himself just as much as me!

The first place we visited was Costa as I needed to get my caffeine! After the coffee hit we headed straight to the Tower (to read about this click here.)

Next we walked along the river, took too many photos and made idiots of ourselves in Bow E3, it’s where Wiley is from ennit!

We took a walk around St Katherine Docks where we saw the Queen’s canal boat, a water hippo and a long line of brand new Boris bikes.

On to Olympic Park; we walked around the park and once again took too many photos. We were super lucky with the weather so mooched about in the sun, wandered around some shops and watched some people play giant chess in the street before heading for the train home where I fell asleep before even finishing my drink!

London can be a really beautiful place and a great day out, especially on a bright and warm September day!
