Luton’s number 5 scored the goal of the season just before the half hour mark. A free kick from Alex Lawless was deflected and cleared out of the box to find the end of McNulty’s foot, and the Town favourite smashed in a volley most strikers would be proud of.
With old faces Jamie Hand and Richard Brodie returning to Kenilworth Road the game was set to be tense from the offset, especially since goal scorer McNulty said of ex-team mate Brodie “he needs to ask Father Christmas for a brain”.
The game started slowly and without the pantomime between the crowd and Brodie I would’ve found myself getting cold. However, when the boys came out for the second half the game sped up with substitutions made and Luton dominated the game, of which could’ve ended with 3 or 4 more goals.
There is still some work to be done, and gaffer John Still knows this, but 6 points from the last two games at home is not something I will frown upon.
See McNulty’s strike here.
