January Shopping

As the title gives away, I have been doing a lot of shopping so thought I would share with you where I have been and what I have bought. Some of it may excite you a lot and some not so much but here it is.
I have been shopping both in store and online, I went on a shopping trip to Milton Keynes shopping centre with Lauren last week so got a lot there. Some of what I bought is for presents so I won’t tell you how much they cost.

Firstly, I made use of the online sales and done a bit of shopping at both Boohoo.com and Republic. They both had some really good sales on and my wardrobe needed a few new pieces. I was mainly looking for jumpers and dresses so was very pleased with Republic; I bought 3 jumpers and 2 dresses. I haven’t tried any on yet but my favourite at the moment is the tartan pinafore dress. I wasn’t as impressed on Boohoo.com but I did find a really cute pair of flat shoes with mouse detail on the front and studs around the sides as well as some really bright mint green jeans which I know will get a lot of wear.

Onto the shops…The first place we went was Boots as we both wanted to see what gift sets and perfumes they had in the sale. I got a really nice French Connection bath and candle set for my sister in law (her birthday was January 5th) and a Superdry perfume collection for myself. I’ve only ever smelt the orange one but this set of 4 was the same price as one bottle online so I couldn’t resist! I also picked up a few hair items that I am planning on using tonight and reviewing for you guys so watch out for that.

Next up was the Disney store and most things in there were half price so I had to be really stern with myself and not go too mad. It is Dufus’s birthday at the end of the month though so I did pick him up a Monsters University camera and photo album set and some Monsters University high top trainers. I also couldn’t leave without the Monsters University Sully style phone case!

We also popped into TK Maxx as I was looking for a travel wash bag and they normally have some really good sweets and things by the tills. I picked up a silver wash bag for my Mum (see how I filled it here) and a few Christmas food goodies that were on sale. The white peppermint sticks went great in a big mug of hot chocolate and I plan on making the sugar cookies next weekend.

I can never walk past the Perfume shop without having a little look at what they have on offer and even though I was good and stopped myself from buying more perfume for myself I did pick up an Anna Sui gift set for my sister in law for her birthday. The bottle is so cute and the packaging is really pretty, I did smell the perfume and it was a hit with me and Lauren so hopefully she likes it too.

The last stop in Milton Keynes was Waterstones as Lauren wanted to start a book collection, in here most books were buy one get one half price so I was in heaven. I picked up three more John Green books and as I didn’t realise they were all buy one get one half price I picked up a book called Stoner at the till. I don’t know what this book is about but I have since found out it was voted book of the year so I have high hopes for this one.

I also popped into town with the boy a few days ago and picked up a few little bits, I went into Clintons and found these Salted Caramel Yankee Candles which smell just like heaven in a jar. I got the medium jar for myself and the tea lights for my Mum as she got a Yankee Candle tea light holder for Christmas.

I was also looking for a simple lunchbox to take into work with me so went into Wilkinsons where I picked up a sandwich box for 50p and two square lunchboxes for £1. I also saw some Tango car fresheners so I picked an apple one up for Lauren and a cherry one for my Mum.

As always I had to see what Waterstones was offering and I picked up a little Zombie gift for my sister’s boyfriend (his birthday was also January 5th) and a book holder book mark for Lauren. I have a black one of these and love it so thought a nice pink one would encourage Lauren to stick with her new books!

As you can see I have done quite a bit of shopping recently, mainly presents with a few treats for myself. Have you been buying anything in the sales? Leave a comment down below and let me know what you’ve got.
