Saying goodbye to Burt, my Christmas tree, was the kick start I needed for the new year and with a lot of time spent in the sales I needed to make some room in my wardrobe for the new arrivals.
I have 2 wardrobes in my house, the first is for dresses, shirts and trousers and the second is for hoodies and jumpers.
Keeping them in order is something I try to do but not hard enough sometimes and as my clothes get worn and go through the washing cycle back to my wardrobe I don’t always put them back where they belong.
I forgot to take some before pictures but they were not in any sort of order, I had jumpers in with my dresses, all my hoodies were mismatched and my trousers hadn’t been in piles for too long!
The first thing I did was go through my hoodies and jumper wardrobe and was really brutal, I put anything I hadn’t worn in months to one pile and didn’t realise how many hoodies I was keeping and not wearing! I then put all my hoodies at the back of the wardrobe from dark to light, jumpers in front from dark to light and zip up hoodies in the same order.
I then did the same thing with my dresses, shirts and trousers. I split my wardrobe so my dresses were at one side of my wardrobe and my shirts were at the other. I put my trousers into 3 piles, one for smart trousers, one for jeans and one for my ‘chav’ trousers.
In total I donated two black sacks to my local charity shop and I am now determined to keep both of my wardrobes looking like this and to regularly do a clear out of the old to make room for the new.
