#PRAYFORMUAMBA

My regular Saturday night post should be a match report from today’s Luton game. But, this isn’t a regular Saturday.

Scenes from White Hart Lane earlier this evening have been shown on every news channel in the UK, as Bolton midfielder Fabrice Muamba collapsed and had to receive emergency medical assistance on the pitch.

When referee, Howard Webb, made the decision to abandon the match there wasn’t a single sound throughout the stadium, and hearing Spurs fans chanting the name of a 24-year-old ex-Arsenal youth player shows just why it is called The Beautiful Game.

The young England player was given assistance from both squads’ medical teams and players looked on physically and emotionally breaking down whilst paramedics tried for just under 10 minutes to resuscitate the player before lifting him off the pitch on a stretcher.

The latest news is that Muamba is critically ill in a Heart specialist hospital in Bethnal Green, London.
I’m sure you don’t have to be a Bolton fan, or even a football fan to join me in praying for a full and speedy recovery for such a young talented man.
