‘Your Friend’ wants you to build them a
farm, ‘Your Boss’ wants you to staff their rollercoaster, ‘Your Aunt’ sent you
a love heart. Is it just me or does your Facebook news feed get clogged up by
this daily?
However, recently I have found myself
engrossed in a new game, WeTopia. The basics of the game are fairly simple you
have a city; you have to build houses and shops to accommodate for your people
and gain joy.
This joy can then be sent to a number of
different charities to help.
The big difference about this game is that
the joy people send on the computer gets sent in real life to people all around
the world.
The game, played by celebrities Justin
Bieber & Ellen DeGeneres, is a fun way of raising aid without even
realizing you are doing it.
So far over 360 thousand hot meals, 340
thousand gallons of drinking water, 2 thousand warm coats and 2 thousand pairs
of shoes have been given out by the game that has only been live for a matter of
weeks.
Next time you log on to Facebook just
search it, look around and by playing a game you can change the quality of someone’s
life.
