Recently I have been stepping outside of my comfortable Lush
bubble and venturing into a range of different body and beauty products.
Lush will always be my ‘go to’ for the essentials that they
do so well (and I am yet to find a better comparison) such as their massage
bars, body scrubs and solid shampoo. But I am always looking out for new
exciting, and potentially better, products.
I made an order with Avon a while back and received my items
a few days ago. I ordered a mixture of fragrance sprays, moisture sprays,
bubble bath and shower gel.
I have used fragrance sprays before from The Body Shop and I
loved the concept of them but I felt none of the scents appealed to me greatly
and they weren’t a product that matched their price tag. Avon were advertising
their fragrance sprays at 3 bottles for £5 I thought they were definitely worth
a try.
I have ordered from Avon before and find their scents very
true to life and not artificial like some others; I ordered fragrance sprays in
Juicy Watermelon, Cherry Blossom and Black Cherry & Nutmeg. My first
impression of these were good, they all had strong scents that were pleasant
and light enough for a room spray and after having used the Black Cherry &
Nutmeg for a few days whilst I have been away my opinion has not changed.
I also ordered some moisture sprays in Citrus Burst and
Passion, shower gel in Passion and bubble bath in Watermelon.
I brought the Passion shower gel and moisture spray with me as
I like matching the scents on my skin so it has a more lasting effect. I buy a
lot of moisturisers but normally end up wasting a lot of product as I put it on
my skin but end up wiping it off again as they feel thick, heavy or greasy and
seem to sit on my skin rather than really soak into it.
I have become a fan of these moisture sprays as they are
light and not greasy, you only need a few sprays for your whole body and it
really soaks into the skin rather than gliding along the top so I feel like I
am actually benefiting from what the bottle is telling me it does.
I also took a little trip into Superdrug whilst I was out
the other day and bought a few items, I went in initially for some Sally Hansen
nail polish that had been recommended to me as my nails are very weak and as
soon as they begin to grow they chip and break.
I purchased the Sally Hansen Maximum Growth nail polish that
boasts visible results in just one week; I will let you know if that’s true!
Whilst walking around the shop I also spotted a gorgeous
cream blush by MUA in Scrummy, it is a really natural looking pink blush. I do
prefer cream blush over powder as I feel it glides on my face creams better,
looks a lot more natural and lasts longer.
Also out of the corner of my eye a little stand with 1D
written all over it caught my eye, I have to admit these 5 boys are very much
my guilty pleasure at the minute so I thought I would take a look at what they
were offering. There were nail polishes, lipsticks and lip balms. The packaging
all looked great and one particular lipstick stood out to me, it was in the
shade Moments and again the packaging was adorable, a simple black and red case
with Kiss You written on the outside. The actual lipstick also had 1D embossed
on the top and there were X’s and O’s around the sides. Each band member had
their own lipstick and (without knowing it) I had chosen Niall.
The colour of the lipstick is a cute light pink with a
shimmer and actually matched the cream blush very well. However, after a few
uses I am not as impressed by the product as I was by the packaging. I mean for
a couple of pounds (and for their targeted audience of 12 year olds) it is a good
enough lipstick but it just wasn’t very pigmented, creamy or long lasting. I
really, really wanted to like this product so I could go back and get more but
unfortunately it just didn’t cut it for me.

products in motion click here.
