Solomon Taiwo scored the Hatters first goal of the season in the 64th minute after a penalty was awarded to the Town for a foul on Gray.
Luke Guttridge then doubled the score line 10 minutes before the final whistle with a header into the back of the net.
Still’s men were not looking too impressive in the challenge for the Skrill Premier Title race following their first defeat on Saturday, and they certainly didn’t come back with much fight in them last night.
Lack of passing and a very uncreative midfield caused groans around the Kenilworth Road stadium from as early on as 16 minutes.
Missing key players like Alex Lawless and Ronnie Henry, Luton looked like a new team with no experience or confidence.
Andre Gray was cheered on the pitch just at the first hour ticked by, and although he could’ve (and should’ve) seen his name up on the score board he managed to change the game.
A fresh pair of legs will always bring more pace to a game and when those legs can go as fast as Andre’s the pace was definitely brought!
Not an entirely convincing performance but a good end result and I guess winning dirty is still winning and that’s what we need to do.
Next game: Saturday 17th August @ Kenilworth Road
