King Of The Castle

A few weeks ago I discovered Richard Castle, a nearly forty year old author from New York. Some of his novels include the ‘Derrick Storm’ series and his most recent collection ‘Nikki Heat’ based on a New York detective Castle has been following for inspiration.

However, Richard Edgar Castle is as fictional as Derrick Storm and Nikki Heat. He is in fact the lead character in hit U.S series drama ‘Castle’.

Played by Nathan Fillion, viewers watch as Castle juggles being a father, son, author and shadow detective. Fillion is supported by a 5-star cast who together create believable and heart-warming relationships. From the comical like that between Castle and his mother, to the more frustrating like that between Castle and his ‘subject’ Detective Beckett of which never fails to leave me screaming at the screen: “just kiss her Castle.”
