Life After La Senza

I never would have imagined it, and it wasn’t down to choice, but I was having to get to grips with ‘Life After la Senza.’

With three drawers dedicated to underwear I am a self-confessed ‘pant-a-holic’ but one thing all my pants need to show is the same 2cm label:

There had been speculation and rumour of the store closing down at the beginning of December but I had spoken to a few of the shop assistants who all ensured me it was just that – speculation and rumour.

Spending a ridiculous amount of money at the underwear chain was routine every month, so when I placed my regular order at the end of the year I wasn’t expecting anything other than a parcel at my door a few days later.

So, when I logged into my e-mail and was greeted with a message informing me the company was gone and my order wasn’t able to be processed I was very close to shedding actual tears.

And I have been grieving my loss for nearly two months now and am having withdrawal symptoms from underwear shopping.

People do ask me why I need so much underwear; well I do wear it every day and after all underwear is a basic human right!

I set on my track to find a replacement. I looked online at underwear boutiques: http://www.bouxavenue.com/

I went all Gok Wan and tried to find beauty on the high street:

But I always ended up at the same conclusion; “it’s not quite la Senza.”

And the truth is, and what I’m now being forced to realise, is nothing ever was and nothing ever will be “quite la Senza.”
