Countdown to Christmas – 3rd December 2014

There must be something in the air in December that awakens all of our creative energy; even my sister was making a Christmas wreath a few nights ago (and if you knew my sister you’d know she is not the type to sit at home of an evening surrounded by supplies from Hobbycraft!)

Pinterest always fills my mind of things I can make and do, this year I am planning a completely homemade Christmas tree!

Some of the things I have done so far are paper snowflakes, paper chains, Christmas card colouring in, recycled reindeer and Christmas tree pine cones.

Paper snowflakes and paper chains are so fun and easy to make and decorate that you can do them with anyone old or young and all you need is paper, scissors and colouring pens or pencils. I am planning to make some really cute snowflakes with Dufus to put around my room this year!

The recycled reindeer and Christmas tree pine cone were ideas from a very creative colleague and we had fun today cutting up toilet tubes, finding pairs of googley eyes and sticking on little button noses before we began rolling pine cones in some green acrylic paint and then sprinkling them with glitter.

I am planning some more fun Christmas crafts that I will show you as the month goes by. Let me know of any Christmas crafts you have planned.

Today’s advent picture was holly.
