The day started at Covent Garden waiting for my mum’s friend, Troy. Whilst stood around waiting I decided to do a bit of celebrity spotting and found Ricci from MTV’s Geordie Shore. I also managed to squeeze in a quick selfie with Queen Lizzie before we headed for lunch.
Lunch was at 5 Guys which, if you are not familiar with, do the BEST burger and fries. They serve burgers how my Mum and I have said all restaurants should, they start with just a burger in a bun and you add your toppings and sauces. It makes life for a fussy eater like me very simple!
We then walked around a few shops and had a bit of a stroll through Covent Garden market and the streets of central London before going for some afternoon tea as Bill’s.
Dessert is always my favourite course so I headed straight for the sweet menu, I decided upon some cinnamon sugar doughnuts and mocha. Troy opted for the afternoon tea traditional scones with cream and jam, what he got were two of the smallest scones known to man and a cream and jam style sundae. Size aside the desserts were lovely, the company was great and the conversation flowed before we headed back to the tube station and made our way home.
If you are heading into central London any time soon I would recommend both places, 5 Guys is for anyone who is in search of a great burger whereas Bill’s serves amazing coffee and is such a cute little place that you will not get bored of looking around you.
