Not that I feel any older (or different) than I did last week, last month, or even last year!
However, I did have a lovely day. The very first thing I did was open my card from my Mum at roughly 10 minutes past midnight. (I hadn’t told you guys yet but my Mum has just left for a year. She is on an amazing trip where she will be working in America; a much more detailed post on this will follow.)
After a few hours’ sleep I then opened my present from my Dad which was a blender I had been dying to get for a while. I had read great reviews about it and was really impressed with the design and usability of it, but once again more about that later!
I had a very yummy lunch with my brother after some much needed fussing of my niece, who is still the cutest little girl I have ever seen. My brother and I ate a little village pub where we both ordered a BBQ pulled pork roll, a definite two thumbs up from me. The roll came with chips and a little salsa dip which, I don’t know what was in it but, it was absolutely divine.
After lunch I went home, relaxed and watched Neighbours with a nice hot cup of cinnamon cupcake coffee before heading back out.
This time I went to see the boys’ parents, had yet another cup of coffee, and opened some presents from them as well as my sister. (My sister is also away and didn’t trust me not to open my present so hid it at theirs until my birthday…Yes, I have just turned 25!)
I am not going to list all of my presents but I feel very spoilt and you may see some of it in future posts.
However; I was bought two cakes, both owls, which I am saving for tomorrow night where I am going out for a meal with my friends and family. Now they can choose if they want an Ollie the owl chocolate cake or an Olivia the owl Madeira cake!
I ended the night relaxing with the boy, making smoothies in my blender and chatting to my Mum on Skype.
A very relaxed birthday but filled with the people I love the most, whether that be in the same postcode or thousands of miles away.
P.S. I was planning on calling this blog ‘The Day Facebook Went Mad’ as it is the day of notifications but decided that sounded terribly selfish and I really am grateful for all of the messages I received so thank you to everyone that took time out of their day to wish me such a wonderful birthday.
