Okay so there are not too many crafty things in this blog, mainly baking, but I loved the alliteration in the title so forgive me please?
Over the past few days I have been very hands-on in the run up to Christmas so I thought I would share with you guys how some of it turned out.
Firstly, the boys’ nephew and I built the 3D Santa House I bought recently. We had a lot of fun and it was fairly straight forward but unfortunately Santa’s face wasn’t in the box so we had to customise our decorations with just the lights and glitter that we had. I still loved the outcome and the little one seemed very happy with it as well.
I then got a bit crafty in the kitchen. I made some tiffin for the little one as he loved it when we took him to Costa and decided to eat all of mine instead of his gingerbread reindeer! This was a lot simpler than I thought it would be and actually turned out really good. I baked a big tray so there was also some left over for me.
My BFF Lauren also went a bit next great baker and made some mini Christmas cupcakes which not only looked great but tasted delicious. They glittered; I mean cakes that actually sparkled. They were chocolate chip with a homemade buttercream on top that was so scrummy I could’ve just eaten a bowl of that!
As I mentioned in today’s blog I also tried to make Mum and I a nice homemade hot chocolate orange in an orange as I had seen Zoe do on her YouTube
here. I melted a whole Terry’s chocolate orange in a saucepan of milk so it all started well and was smelling gorgeous. I then cut the top off the oranges and gutted them out (keeping the insides for fresh orange juice tomorrow) but unfortunately one thing I didn’t do was check the bottom of the oranges and they had holes in the bottom of both of them. This meant that when I poured the hot chocolate into them it came straight back out so we had to revert back to mugs but the drink tasted gorgeous and we have some fresh orange juice tomorrow.
Once again a MASSIVE Merry Christmas from me to every single one of you.
