As someone with really naturally pigmented lips I love enhancing this with a bold red lip. However, with the cold weather and strong wind coming in I also like to protect my lips and have been opting for a moisturising balm over a lipstick recently.
Four of my favourite lip products at the moment are Natural Collection in the shade Crimson; this is a really nice deep matte red and very moisturising. It also doesn’t leave a residue on your glass or smudge off easily.
I also love Maybelline’s Babylips in Grape. I know these have been raved about on just about every blog so you will know how fantastic they are but this is my current favourite, the smell is just amazing but the colour is also a nice deep colour and not too sheer.
My final two favourites are Covergirl; the first is Smoochies in the shade Tweet Me and the second is a Wetslicks in the shade Strawberry Splash. Text Me is a lip balm so is quite sheer, I tend to layer this over the top of my Natural Collection lipstick to give it a glossy finish. Strawberry Splash is a lip-gloss and is deeper, shinier red. I love this colour but it is a very sticky gloss so can leave your lips feeling dry and also leaves a sticky residue but the colour is too perfect to let that get in the way!
All of these products are affordable and accessible so are perfect for this time of year when I want to spend my money on the people I love and not my lips.
