It’s a crazy thought that in three weeks Christmas day will
have been and gone. But, with this in mind I am making sure that I am 100%
Christmas day ready with plenty of time to spare this year.
One of the things I dread about Christmas every year is wrapping
the presents! As you may have gathered I love buying presents and tend to spoil
everyone I know, so I think the volume of what I have to wrap puts me off
initially.
I think the key to wrapping for me is set myself an order or
what I am going to wrap, put some music on, grab a (large) drink and just go
for it.
Something I always do is forget something, it might be a
present, the gift tags or even the sellotape, but I am guaranteed to be sitting
on my bed surrounded by presents and paper and then needing to fight my way out
to grab something I have forgotten!
I always have to make sure all my wrapping paper matches and
I tend to go for a theme, I have done Toy Story, Hannah Montana, Barbie,
football playing snowmen. This year I decided to still stick to a theme but not
a character, I have bought a beautiful set from BHS that included 4 rolls of
paper, sticky bows and ribbon.
I was really excited to use this as the colours were all
super pretty and one roll was covered in owls! But, I have to admit I was let
down when I opened it and saw the ‘rolls’ of paper are not rolls but rather a
massive sheet of wrapping paper rolled up so I had already used one roll in
just 4 presents. I think I am going to need to buy some more of this before all
my presents are wrapped.
Something I have found very useful this year is stick on
gift tags, it means I have done no fiddling with the little bits of ribbon or
trying to sellotape them in the right place. These gift tags were only 99p for
100 tags so will definitely last me a few years and they have super cute
pictures on that will go with any paper I am using.
