As a MASSIVE kid at heart I still enjoy all the little things about Christmas like decorating the tree, dancing around supermarkets to ‘Jingle Bell Rock’, leaving a cup of milk out for Santa and always falling asleep before he arrives!
So I find it really difficult to relate to people who just cannot get excited about these things. I admit the hype of Christmas is getting bigger and longer every year. I saw my first Christmas tree in a shop in August this year and even I thought that was too early.
But the people who think Christmas is one day and one day only really frustrate me, as I mentioned earlier, Christmas is about all the little things not just waking up on the 25th December and opening presents.
When I get excited about Christmas it’s not because I am waiting for anything special under the tree, I enjoy the atmosphere; I love the nights getting darker and the weather getting colder. I love getting snuggled on the sofa with a massive mug of hot chocolate watching a family film, I indulge in the joy that is all around and don’t want it spoilt by rotten un-festive sour faces.
